This is my first taste of Child's writing and I am greatly impressed. I came across this title in several books dealing with Gothic studies in America and thought I'd check it out to see if it would fit with my dissertation topic. Not only is it going in, it was a fantastic, enjoyable read as well. A little obvious with some of its political and religious overtones, but that's typical of the era.
